This week, our regulatory experts, Maria Castellà and Alejandro Ballester, participated in the first consortium meeting of the EU-funded GreenNanoBone project in Bergen, Norway.
Two key highlights from the meeting:
- The experts advanced the development of novel in vitro and in vivo models of MRONJ (medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw), which will play a central role in evaluating the safety and efficacy of the product throughout its development.
- Asphalion’s regulatory experts, together with the consortium partners, tackled key early-stage questions, including the product’s regulatory classification and the roadmap for its development.
Aligning scientific progress with a robust regulatory strategy from the outset is what helps transform promising research into solutions that can ultimately reach patients.
The #EUFunded GreenNanoBone project aims to develop sustainable 4D biomaterials from potato waste to prevent and treat medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ)—a serious side effect of Bone Targeting Agents (BTAs) experienced by thousands of cancer survivors.
