The 1st European PhD and Postdoc symposium “Breaking Down Complexity: Innovative Models and Techniques in Biomedicine” will be held in Barcelona from the 15th to the 17th of November 2017.
This initiative aims to involve young scientists in opening the academic world from within; promoting crosstalk between biomedical disciplines, collaboration with industry and engagement with society.
Asphalion is joining the event to present the opportunities that the Regulatory Affairs field can offer to participants, especially within our company. As an international scientific and regulatory affairs consultancy, Asphalion offers support for Drug Development and Regulatory Affairs activities to Pharma, Biotech and Medical Devices companies. Therefore, scientist from different biomedical disciplines are involved.
With the aim to create a common ground where PhD students and postdocs from all over Europe can interact with professionals to discuss career perspectives beyond the bench, Career Chats will be held. This format provides a more direct interaction between PhD and Postdocs and professionals that hold a PhD but moved beyond academic research like industry CEOs, consultants, editors or science communicators. In this sense, Asphalion’s expert Vicente Tur, will run two Career Chats to explain his career path from the academia to his current job as Regulatory Affairs Manager. The sessions will be on November 15th at 16:00h and 16:30h for a small groups of participants.
On the 16th Nov, Vicente will also attend “Tapas with the speakers”. This is an informal evening discussion between the speakers from the Scientific symposium and Career Chats with the young scientists participating in the Symposium in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss topics of science, biomedicine, ethics and possible career paths, accompanied by typical Tapas finger food.
The Enable symposium will be an inspiring event not to miss. Asphalion specialists will be glad to meet you at our stand to present our company opportunities and exchange ideas on biomedicine industry. We look forward meeting you!
