Our first featured colleague is Sergio Veiga, Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Consultant. Let’s learn more about his journey at Asphalion!
“I applied to Asphalion two years ago looking for a new challenge after more than 20 years working in biomedical research. I had previously worked as a scientific researcher in public institutions, as well as Study Director and a R&D Manager in the Pharmaceutical industry, which allowed me to gain knowledge on the development process of new medicines and medical devices.
Within Asphalion, I participate in the elaboration of documentation for investigational product dossiers for US and Europe, as well as provide consultancy services to clients during the development of new medicines and medical devices. These services include, among many others: preparation of Scientific Advice Meetings with competent authorities and the preparation of Regulatory roadmaps or GAP analyses, where we help the client identify the optimal pathway for their product to reach the market as a new medicine or medical device.
In my day-to-day, I interact with skilled and experienced professionals with different backgrounds in biomedicine; from basic research-oriented investigators to consolidated private companies, which enables my professional growth through their rich, varied perspective on product development. Furthermore, I continuously learn from my collaboration with colleagues from my unit and from other Asphalion’s departments, whose professionality and willingness makes each project an enjoyable journey.
The exceptional good working environment and flexibility at Asphalion is the icing of the cake, and it has allowed me to find the optimal balance between my professional and my personal life.”
