The second stop, after the MYOCURE kick-off meeting in Brussels, was the first project progress meeting, which was held in Barcelona from March 27th-28th. The meeting was hosted by the project partner Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), headed by Prof. Fátima Bosch and took place in the Institut d’Estudis Catalans not far from one of the most prominent streets of the city ? Las Ramblas.
During the two day meeting, the partners presented and discussed vividly the work and progress within the work packages, laying a thorough basis for the second year of the project. Next to the scientific work, the partners were also briefed in regards to management issues especially with the upcoming first periodic report in summer. As all partners are very committed to disseminating the project, one session was dedicated to the planning of upcoming activities.
At the end of the meeting French MYOCURE partner Généthon (GEN) proposed to host the next year meeting in Paris. Thus one thing becomes apparent, the MYOCURE partners are not only the most renowned experts in the field of gene therapy, they also come from the most attractive cities in Europe.
