International Women’s Day ♀ is a global day to celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s campaign advocates for us all to #EmbraceEquity. Equity isn’t just a nice-to-have but a must-have. A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society’s DNA.
At Asphalion, women represent nearly 70% of the company, and women at the technical team account for an astonishing 68%, a figure that keeps increasing year after year. On the occasion of IWD23, and aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals we started working in 2022, today we have held a workshop about “Women in history, women´s history”.
Expert Noelia Aranda has given an overview about gender, work division according to gender, intersectionality, stereotypes, how social class and origin has a direct impact in women’s lives, etc., underlining how we have somehow formal equity, but not a real one, so that taking action is still much needed.
