UK’s “Innovative Devices Access Pathway (IDAP)”

The aim is to develop a pathway that allows manufacturers to provide their innovative device to healthcare professionals and patients at the earliest, safe, opportunity. The proposed pathway will be piloted with digital health technologies and will need to dock into the reimbursement pathways being developed.

The MHRA has recently announced the launch of the new “Innovative Devices Access Pathway (IDAP)”. This new route aims to facilitate and expedite the development of innovative medical technologies, by providing innovators and manufacturers with a multi-partner support service including targeted scientific advice.

Set for launch later in 2023, the IDAP will be operated in partnership with NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), Health Technology Wales and Scottish Health Technology Group,
