At Asphalion, our success is driven by the dedicated and passionate individuals who make up our incredible team. Today, we wanted to highlight and share the Asphalion journey of Alicia Garrido, Senior Business Developer on our “People Talks”.
“I first came across Asphalion two years ago, while finishing my internship in the market access department of a large pharmaceutical company. Having just completed my MBA in the pharmaceutical industry, I was eager to find a new opportunity where I could combine my passion for science with my enthusiasm for sales and business development. Asphalion turned out to be the perfect fit for me.
During the various stages of the application process, my interactions with team members gave me a glimpse into the exceptional human quality that Asphalion prides itself on—a key factor in my decision to join the team.
My day-to-day experience as part of the business development team at Asphalion is never dull! I get to collaborate not only with a talented group of professionals within the company, but also with a diverse range of clients, from startups to major pharmaceutical companies. When we’re not attending business meetings, we’re developing commercial strategies and campaigns, participating in industry events, and ensuring that every company we work with receives top-notch service.
After two years with the company, I’ve taken on the responsibility of leading the Pharmacovigilance business unit, a critical area of Asphalion’s operations. While this role has brought its share of challenges, it is also being incredibly rewarding and truly exciting.
I would like to highlight the trust and opportunities that Asphalion offers its employees. Young voices are heard, and talent is nurtured. Personally, my managers have consistently encouraged me to take on new challenges, allowing me to develop both my technical expertise and soft skills—something I am extremely grateful for.
Additionally, Asphalion’s People and Culture team always looks out for us, providing full flexibility and the option to work remotely when necessary. That said, one of the things I enjoy most is working at the Madrid office, where the work atmosphere couldn’t be better!
