Today, we spotlight Dr Christopher Mann, our Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Director, whose career uniquely bridges biomedical research and high-level scientific communication.
Chris holds a PhD in Biochemistry (Molecular Biology), specialising in gene therapy for muscular dystrophy. He has over 15 years of academic research experience in gene therapy and immunology and has authored numerous original research papers and review articles in peer-reviewed journals. His background also includes grant preparation, scientific presentations and international training, and the translation of complex scientific documents from Spanish to English, ensuring clarity and precision in highly technical contexts.
He is a recognised expert in medical and scientific writing for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), biosimilars, biological, biotechnological, and other innovative products. His regulatory expertise covers pediatric development plans (EU and FDA), Scientific Advice and Pre-IND meetings, and Centralised Procedures, where he provides strategic guidance to companies developing cutting-edge therapies. He has also acted as work package leader in international research consortia, including ATMP-focused projects, demonstrating strong leadership in multidisciplinary environments.
Beyond the laboratory and regulatory strategy, Chris brings extensive experience as a professional writer and editor, with contributions to online media platforms, interviews, and even previously hosting a weekly radio show. This rare combination of scientific excellence and communication skills enables him to translate complex regulatory and scientific concepts into clear, structured, and impactful content. His analytical mindset, editorial precision, and strategic vision make him a key asset in supporting innovative therapies from development to approval.
