We are proud to share that the KeratoPrinter project was featured at the RAPS EuroConvergence 2026.
During the event, our team had the opportunity to present some of the Horizon Europe projects that Asphalion is actively involved in, including KeratoPrinter, at Asphalion’s booth.
Corneal blindness affects more than 11.7 million people worldwide, yet only 1 in 70 patients currently receives a corneal transplant due to the severe shortage of donor tissue. The KeratoPrinter project aims to bridge this gap by developing a groundbreaking 4D bioprinting suite capable of producing fully functional, biocompatible, full-thickness human corneas.
Bringing together expertise from leading international partners, the project focuses on scalable cell sources, advanced bioinks, high-precision bioprinting technologies, clinical handling solutions, regulatory compliance, and the creation of a strong collaborative network. By 2035, KeratoPrinter aims to transform corneal transplantation and help restore vision for millions of people worldwide.
As a proud regulatory partner in the project, Asphalion contributes its expertise in regulatory strategy and compliance to support the successful development and future implementation of this innovative therapy.
