HORIZON PROJECTS | CPHI 2024

October 10, 2024

The MISTRAL and the Spiomet4Health project made it to CPHI 2024 in Milan!!

At Asphalion´s booth at CPHI our team of experts have been sharing information about these two EU-funded projects.

MISTRAL stands for “Microbiome-based stratification of individuals at risk of HIV-1 acquisition, chronic clinical complications, antimicrobial drug resistance, and unresponsiveness to therapeutic HIV-1 vaccination”. The project is focused on analysing the role of the intestinal microbiome in HIV infection with the objective of designing treatments to prevent HIV infection, reinforce the immune system, control the progression of the infection and improve the response to potential vaccinations against the virus.

Spiomet4Health aims to provide a novel treatment for adolescent girls and young adult women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS affects between 5 and 10% of women of reproductive age and can cause increased body hair and acne, irregular menstrual periods, and fertility problems. It is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age but is still one of the most unknown pathologies among the general population.

You can check the projects’ websites to stay up-to-date about news and developments!
