On April 3rd, Asphalion’s Montse Domingo participated in the first working session on the upcoming European Research and Innovation Framework Programme (FP10). The session was organized by ACCIÓ, the Department of Research and Universities, and the Department of Foreign Action of the Government of Catalonia.
FP10 is the next European Union Research and Innovation Framework Programme, set to succeed Horizon Europe. While still in development, FP10 is expected to launch in 2028 and run through 2034.
During the session, Montse Badia, Policy Officer at the European Commission, highlighted some of the key priorities of the upcoming programme:
- A stronger focus on innovation
- A larger budget
- An ambition to position R&I at the heart of the European economy, with a focus on delivering real impact
The session also featured insights from IRIS Technologies and CITCEA (UPC), who shared their experiences with EU-funded projects and emphasized areas for improvement.
The event concluded with an open dialogue among participants, where crucial topics such as budget allocation, lump-sum models, innovation actions, partnerships, and reporting requirements were discussed.
