Very productive meeting in the beautiful city of Aarhus! The project is now in its month 18 and moving forward with good results on antimicrobial activity in the developed biomaterials. The partners of the project met in Denmark to review the progress and discuss next steps.

Asphalion, as the regulatory partner of the project, helped identify which information should be collected before contacting Regulatory Authorities to validate the qualification of the first candidate as a medical device.

The EU-funded project, part of Horizon programme, will develop multifunctional biomaterials, from proof-of-concept (TRL 3) to the preclinical regulatory stage (TRL 5), to improve wound management. The resulting biomaterials will enable affordable treatment of wound infections or prevention of complications during all phases of the wound healing process.
